Senior Data Scientist, Educational Analytics

About this role

EduCore Institute seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead data-driven initiatives within our Analytics team. You will develop and deploy predictive models that improve educational outcomes, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex analyses into actionable insights. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful problems in education technology, combining statistical rigor with practical problem-solving. You will own end-to-end model development, from exploratory analysis through production implementation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy predictive models to forecast student outcomes, retention, and learning trajectories
• Lead data exploration, feature engineering, and model validation across educational datasets
• Collaborate with product, operations, and academic teams to define success metrics and translate business questions into analytical problems
• Build and maintain data pipelines and monitoring systems for model performance in production
• Communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and reports
• Mentor junior team members and establish best practices for analytics and modeling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Demonstrated ability to work with large, messy datasets and translate ambiguous problems into structured analytical frameworks
• Experience communicating technical work to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency with Python or R, SQL, and version control systems
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimental design, and causal inference
