Senior Software Engineer

Urban Retail Ventures is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead technical architecture and mentor our development team. In this role, you will drive architectural decisions, establish best practices, and develop talent across the organization. You will balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring our systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve system architecture to support current and future product needs
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers through code review, pairing, and feedback
• Lead technical design reviews and contribute to engineering standards
• Collaborate with product and stakeholder teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks
• Document architectural decisions and share knowledge across the team

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrable impact at scale
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• Collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers
• Strong systems design and software architecture skills
• Track record of delivering robust, maintainable code
