Backend Engineer (Mid-level)

About this role

Paradise Hospitality Group is looking for a Mid-level Backend Engineer to design and build scalable services that power our hospitality platform. You'll work on distributed systems that handle real-world demand, collaborating with a talented engineering team to solve complex infrastructure challenges. This role focuses on backend development using Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes. You'll own services from concept through production, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services in Python
• Build and optimize database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL
• Deploy and manage services using Docker and Kubernetes
• Implement caching strategies with Redis to improve system performance
• Collaborate with teammates on code reviews and architectural decisions
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues; identify performance bottlenecks

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend development experience
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Familiarity with caching systems and distributed architecture patterns
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
