Senior Database Administrator

About this role

Paradise Hospitality Group is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the management and optimization of our critical database infrastructure. You'll own the performance, reliability, and security of systems serving our hospitality operations across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch. In this role, you'll architect scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and establish best practices that support our growth. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure our databases meet uptime and performance targets while minimizing operational overhead.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance across multiple platforms
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents with minimal downtime
• Manage database capacity planning, upgrades, and patches
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and documentation standards
• Mentor junior team members and lead database architecture reviews

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on database administration experience
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL; proficiency with Redis, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance issues
• Experience with backup/recovery tools, replication, and high-availability setups
• Proven track record managing databases in production environments
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
