About this role

Velocity Trading Group's Fixed Income team is seeking a mid-level trader to execute and manage fixed income trading strategies. You'll operate in a fast-paced environment, making real-time decisions across bonds, interest rate derivatives, and credit instruments. This role offers direct exposure to market dynamics and portfolio management at a growing proprietary trading firm.

Responsibilities

• Execute fixed income trades aligned with team strategies and risk parameters
• Monitor market conditions and adjust positions to capitalize on opportunities
• Analyze credit spreads, yield curves, and relative value signals
• Manage portfolio risk and maintain compliance with internal limits
• Collaborate with traders and quantitative analysts on strategy development
• Document trade rationale and maintain clear position records

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fixed income trading or related experience
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to analyze market data and make independent decisions
• Excellent risk management discipline and attention to detail
• Proficiency with trading platforms and market data tools
• Strong understanding of bonds, credit instruments, and interest rate products
