API Developer – Mid-Level

About this role

Paradise Hospitality Group is looking for a mid-level API Developer to design and build the RESTful and GraphQL APIs that power our third-party integrations. You'll own the full lifecycle of API development—from architecture and implementation through testing and deployment—working with a talented API team to enable seamless connectivity across our platform. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to understand requirements, iterate on designs, and deliver robust, well-documented APIs. You'll work with modern tools and frameworks, including Node.js, GraphQL, REST, and OpenAPI specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs that support third-party integrations
• Build scalable backend services using Node.js and PostgreSQL
• Create and maintain OpenAPI documentation and API specifications
• Write tests, perform code reviews, and ensure code quality standards
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and partner teams to refine API requirements
• Deploy and monitor APIs in production environments

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience building APIs or backend services
• Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Comfortable with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks
• Experience with API documentation and tools like OpenAPI/Swagger
• Solid understanding of REST principles and GraphQL fundamentals
• Strong proficiency with Node.js and relational databases like PostgreSQL
