Logistics Accountant

Swift Logistics Network seeks a Logistics Accountant to join our Finance team in Boston. You will manage cost accounting and financial reporting for our logistics operations, ensuring accurate tracking of transportation, warehousing, and supply chain expenses. This role bridges operations and finance, requiring both analytical rigor and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyze logistics-related costs including freight, warehousing, and handling expenses
• Prepare and review financial reports for logistics operations and management review
• Reconcile accounts payable and accrued expenses related to transportation and logistics vendors
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes for logistics cost centers
• Investigate cost variances and provide explanations to leadership
• Maintain accurate records of logistics transactions in the general ledger

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in logistics or supply chain
• Ability to organize complex data and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Strong understanding of logistics cost structures and industry practices
