Demand Planner

About this role

Swift Logistics Network is seeking a Demand Planner to join our Planning team in San Francisco. You'll drive inventory optimization using data-driven forecasting methods, balancing supply chain efficiency with customer demand variability. In this mid-level role, you'll own demand planning processes, analyze historical trends, and collaborate with operations and sales to refine forecasts. Your insights will directly reduce excess inventory and stockouts, improving our network's performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts using statistical methods and historical sales data
• Analyze demand patterns and identify drivers impacting inventory levels
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and logistics teams to align forecasts with business goals
• Monitor forecast accuracy and implement corrective actions to improve performance
• Build and document forecasting models and assumptions for stakeholder review
• Support inventory optimization initiatives and participate in process improvement projects

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or inventory management
• Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and detail
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain insights to non-technical audiences
• Experience in logistics, retail, or distribution preferred
• Proficiency with forecasting software, Excel, and data analysis tools
• Strong understanding of demand planning methodologies and statistical concepts
